Our Last Day in Hong Kong - The Great Buddha

Our last day in Hong Kong included a visit to the Great Buddha on Landao Island.  It was an hour on the metro system to the cable car terminal.  There we boarded the cable car system.  It is actually THREE different lines, the cars change cables automatically along the journey.  The entire cable car ride was 25 minutes from start to end.

At the top is a tourist village that we quickly got through.

It was a foggy day on the mountain top. 

The monastery is huge and offered some nice features to view and admire.

These are the typical guardians one often finds inside of the entrance gate house.

Then we began the climb.  270 steps to the top.

At the end of the day we rode the cable car system back to the terminus and then the metro back into Kowloon.  It was a great way to end our Hong Kong adventure.

Tomorrow we head into mainland China and a new adventure begins.
