Today was a free day so several of us opted for a very long, very brisk walk. We traced the shoreline through markets, docks, and plenty of coastline.
Drying racks where the Helsinki folk come down in the spring to wash their rugs in the sea water...yes, even today.
We stopped for coffee and a snack at mile three. This restaurant had an interesting sign in the lobby.
The local swimming beach.
Interesting sign...did not discover what the business was.
So....the Tallywacker statue is Helsinki people's favorite for all kinds of reasons...some which of course you can surmise yourself. It is actually to honor laborers.
The statutes in front of the train station.
National Gallery of Art.
We had lunch at a Turkish restaurant, headed back to the hotel for a lazy day and a warm nap. Later this evening Bobbie and I treated everyone to a piano concert at the music center. Mendelssohn and excellent.
