Day 41 - A Free Day in Seoul

Today was our last full day in Seoul as a group and it was free time.  George, Bobbie, Marlena and I took off on a long walk...it ended up being well over five miles.  We followed the river into the city center and then to the palace.  The wire and shrink-wrapped sculptures of favorite Korean characters were fun.  The river runs well below street level and once we were on the path, it was very quiet...even though the busy city was just overhead.

Topside again, we wandered the main boulevard toward the Royal Palace and visited the museum honoring King Seong.  He was the innovative leader that brought peace and social reform to Korea back int he 1400;s created the Korean language alphabet, and was a famed astronomer and musician.

In the palace grounds again, we wandered around taking more photos of the magnificent buildings and gardens...and of course there were hundreds of tourists in rented period costumes.

Just can't get enough of this one....

Where Trump stayed a few days ago.  So glad he was gone.  Man, do the South Koreans dislike him!

We happened upon an all woman drum corps.  Wonderful!

Wandered the shops and ended up in the food market for lunch.

Welcome to Korea. I am Clark and will be seeing you all in Busan. Sorry you missed Trump. (he has a 9% favorability rating here... not a big surprise). Wishing you safe and enjoyable travels as you work your way to Busan.
