We departed Busan by air for a 50 minute flight across the Korean Sea to the island of Jeju. Jeju is a volcanic island with one major mountain and 360 volcanoes. The last eruption was 5,000 year ago. It is a tropical island with everything you would expect, included many tourist resorts.
The coastline of the island is a postcard at every angle.
Fouling around with Angleo's favorite statue.
Long day hikes on coastal trails. Lot of steps.
Into the higlands for a jungle trek.
One of the many volcanoes we climbed.
Diving women and their "cafes."
Rim trail.
A BBQ beef and pork lunch.
Cactus farm. Look at all that fruit.
Green tea plantaion and the shop to sell it. Look at all those people.
Signs like this were everywhere in the tea fields. Angelo says he has never seen a snake. I think it was to keep tourists from trampling the gardens....maybe.
Awesome World Cup stadium.
Walk through the lava flows.
Modern temple.
Dragons!!!
A waterfall near our hotel on the south side of the island.
Coffin water.
Great room on the top floor overlooking the harbor and islands.
Pampas grass fields.
Local village from 830 AD.
A fish lunch. Abalone and squid.
Climbing that mountain. 1200 steps up. 1200 steps down.
The world's longest discovered lava tube. We walked almost a mile underground from one end to the other.
