Our Last Club Adventure - Day 23 - Sambili Trust

Handy Quick Links to our Blog Highlights

We enjoyed a later departure and were on the road traveling through one small desert town after another.  After four hours we reached the Sambili Trust, a school in a remote village dedicated to educating young girls and boys of the untouchable cast.  Even though the cast system has been pretty much abolished, discrimination still exists.  The school was founded by one of these kids when he grew up and there are four schools throughout the Rajistan area.

It was Saturday and no school.  The classrooms were being used by local women coming to learn English and socialize.  We were treated to a sari wrapping class, a turban wrapping class, a lovely lunch and the ladies all received a henna tattoo.

The afteroon drive to Jodpur took us into the hills and more small villages.

We arrived at our lovely garden retreat in Jodpur, the blue city, and enjoyed a swim, a great buffet dinner and a comfortable night.
