With another thunderstorm threatening the horizon we decided that instead of backtracking over those last few really high mountain passes to get to Moab, we would head into Colorado and spend some time with old friends. So in route to Salida, Colorado to visit Ed and Medley Strickland, we climbed over two 10,000 mountain passes. Rocky Mountains, duh, what were we thinking!!!
Ed and Bobbie flew together in the Air Force and have been friends since 1985. Ed and his wife Medley are a lovely couple. We spent three days with them hiking into the Rockies and enjoying their quaint and historic town.
And then of course since we were in Colorado we had to stop in and take a look at the newest retail experience.
