We departed Northern Ireland via an inland route. Along the way we visited to famous and spectacular homes. The first was The Argory, a private home built in the late 1700's and occupied the same noble family well into the late 1980's.
The second was quite a surprise. This was the summer house of a Irish/British Duke and was only made into a national trust monument 30 years ago. The family still occupies a part of the home. It was spectacular. Castle Coole was seen by guided tour only and we were not allowed to take photos...so forgive me for sneaking a few in...it was a beautiful day.
We finished our day in the Newgrange area about 50 miles west of Dublin. We enjoyed two nights in a really sweet cottage on a family estate.
