Perth to Darwin - Days 31-36 - Kununurra

We left Wyndham mid morning and with only two hours to our next stop, we decided to take a dirt track out to the wetlands were a reported bird blind was located on an isolated lagoon.  We were hoping for some freshwater crocs.  What a NICE SURPRISE.

We continued our drive to Kununurra.  This town has 7,000 folks, larger than Broome, plenty of stores, and the park where we camped had huge shade trees and the insects were tolerable.  Our RV park was shaded and had a great pool.  We befriended our neighbors and got some great inside information.  Most of the park are long term tenants.  Debbie across the street has lived here eight years.  We stayed here six days.

For the next three days we relaxed, did a few local hikes, and enjoyed the time.  This was the river crossing for the back road to Wyndham.  We opted to not try it with the RV.

Overlook from a nob near the city.

 Hike through Mimara National Park

Bobbie builds yet another rock totem.

On our last day we did a full day river cruise.  Crocodiles!  FINALLY!
