We departed early today for a long drive up to the coastline and then on to Donegal Town.  We visited a neolithic site with 8,000 year old tombs.

In Donegal City we toured yet another tower home and then wandered around the village for a bit befrore heading further north.

From there we wound our way through high hills and a few mountains and then into and through our last of the six Irish National Parks.  We found our really, really sweet holiday cottage on the far northern coastline where we stayed for two nights.

On our full day of touring the are we drove back to the park and then out to Glenveagh Castle and its amazing gardens.  We spent over two hours enjoying a guided tour of the home and then wandering the gardens.

Following this we headed over to two additional site, a flax mill and another country home.  The mill was closed and the wait time for the tour of home was too long, so we drove back to the cottage where Carol made us a wonderful backed chicken dinner and a rhubarb cobbler.
